Discover the Pointe de la Torche

Beautiful panorama over the Bay of Audierne!

Located in southern Finistère, the pointe de la Torche cuts, by its projection into the sea, the southern end of the baie d’Audierne.

Since 1965, this rocky peninsula is classified Natural Site. And for good reason! Beaten by the elements, it offers an impressive spectacle. On stormy days, the waves, crashing on the rock, pass over the isthmus. On calmer days, you can take a beautiful walk along the coastal path that goes around the point, you will then have a superb view of the Bay of Audierne.

You will meet there tumulus and dolmen, vestiges of the human occupation of this site at the Mesolithic and Neolithic. La Torche is also a very popular site for snow sports enthusiasts. It is also considered as one of the best surf spots in Europe. Several stages of the world championship and the European cup of surfing, among others, took place there. All year long, this spot hosts high level surfing competitions.

Take advantage of your visit to Brittany to learn about this emblematic sport of the region, with one of the schools present at La Torche. The bay of Audierne is also a ideal setting for kite-surfing, body-boarding or sand yachting.
